About Work Health Strategies
Practical Workforce Health Solutions Built on Real-World Experience
Workforce health has become one of the most significant challenges facing Canadian employers.
Organizations are balancing rising disability costs, increasing mental health concerns, an aging workforce, labour shortages, chronic health conditions, and changing employee expectations, all while striving to maintain productivity, support their people, and achieve organizational goals.
These challenges cannot be solved through policies alone.
They require practical strategies that recognize the connection between employee health and organizational performance.
That is why Work Health Strategies was created.
We help organizations build healthier, more sustainable workplaces by developing workforce health strategies that support both people and business success.
Our Approach
No two organizations are the same.
That’s why every engagement begins with understanding your workplace before recommending solutions.
We work collaboratively with leaders to:
Understand
Learn about your workforce, organizational priorities, and the challenges affecting your
employees and operations.
Assess
Identify opportunities to strengthen workforce health while supporting organizational performance.
Develop
Design practical, evidence-informed strategies tailored to your organization’s needs.
Support
Provide ongoing guidance as your organization implements solutions and adapts to changing workforce demands.
Our Philosophy: Workforce Health Is a Business Strategy
Healthy workplaces are not created through isolated wellness initiatives or reactive problem
solving.
They are built through thoughtful leadership, informed decision-making, and practical systems that support employees throughout every stage of their working lives.
Attendance, disability management, workplace accommodations, psychological health and safety, leadership capability, healthy aging, and employee wellbeing are all interconnected.
When organizations view these areas as part of a broader workforce health strategy, they are better positioned to:
- Improve employee engagement
- Reduce absenteeism
- Strengthen disability management
- Retain experienced employees
- Support leaders
- Improve organizational resilience
- Build healthier workplace cultures
Our role is to help organizations connect these pieces in ways that reflect their unique workforce, culture, and operational needs.
Our Story
Experience That Shapes Our Perspective
Work Health Strategies is built on practical experience gained from working within organizations, not simply advising them from the outside.
Before establishing Work Health Strategies, Erin built her career within the manufacturing, healthcare, and energy sectors, working directly with employees, supervisors, managers, Human Resources professionals, and senior leaders.
Those experiences provided firsthand insight into the workforce health challenges organizations face every day, including:
- Occupational health
- Disability management
- Workplace injuries
- Return-to-work planning
- Attendance management
- Workplace accommodation
- Psychological health and safety
- Employee health and wellbeing
Working across these diverse industries reinforced an important lesson.
Workforce health is never just a Human Resources issue.
It influences operations, leadership, safety, employee experience, productivity, workforce sustainability, and long-term organizational performance.
That perspective continues to shape every recommendation we make.

Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Erin.
I founded Work Health Strategies to help organizations build healthier, more sustainable workplaces where people and businesses can succeed together.
For more than 25 years, I’ve worked within the manufacturing, healthcare, and energy sectors, partnering with employees, supervisors, Human Resources professionals, and executive leaders to address the workforce health challenges that influence organizational performance
every day.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported organizations in navigating occupational health, disability management, return-to-work planning, workplace accommodations, attendance management,
and psychological health and safety. Those experiences have shown me that workforce health is not simply an HR issue. It’s a strategic business issue that influences productivity, retention, leadership, workplace culture, and long-term organizational success.
That’s why I created Work Health Strategies.
Today, I partner with organizations across Canada to develop practical, evidence-informed workforce health strategies that strengthen organizational performance while supporting the health and wellbeing of their people.
Because when organizations invest in workforce health, everyone benefits.
Professional Expertise
My approach combines practical workplace experience with specialized expertise across
multiple workforce health disciplines, allowing me to provide balanced, evidence-informed guidance tailored to each organization’s unique needs.
Professional qualifications include:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing (DOHN)
- Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP)
- Certified Return-to-Work Coordinator (CRTWC)
- Certified Psychological Health and Safety Advisor
These qualifications complement more than 25 years of practical experience helping organizations build healthier, safer, and more sustainable workplaces.
Why Organizations Choose Work HealthStrategies
Organizations choose Work Health Strategies because workforce health challenges rarely fit neatly into one department.
They influence Human Resources, operations, leadership, occupational health, disability management, employee experience, and organizational performance.
Our approach recognizes those connections and develops practical strategies that support the organization as a whole.
Rather than applying generic programs or one-size-fits-all solutions, we work collaboratively with leaders to develop recommendations that reflect their people, culture, and business objectives.
Looking Ahead
The future of work is changing.
Organizations are preparing for an aging workforce, evolving employee expectations, increasing disability complexity, growing mental health awareness, and new conversations around healthy aging and menopause in the workplace.
These changes present both challenges and opportunities.
Organizations that invest in workforce health today will be better positioned to attract, retain, and support the talented people who drive long-term success.
Work Health Strategies exists to help organizations navigate that future with confidence.
Ready to translate these strategies into action for your organization?
